Seth is two years out of college and wandering through life. After he gets the news that his mother has died, he receives a mysterious letter inviting him to spend a long weekend at a secluded estate in the country. There Seth meets Richard, the older half-brother he never knew he had and his host for the next three days. Richard is gregarious and intimidating — frat brother meets business tycoon meets high-stakes soccer dad. Everything Seth is not. Also in the house is Abby, Richard’s live-in girlfriend who is much closer in age to Seth and possesses the enigmatic ability to seamlessly transition between matriarch, friend, and lover — sometimes over only the course of a sentence. As the weekend progresses, the mansion and sprawling grounds become an echo chamber for Richard’s and Abby’s increasingly strange behavior. The property quickly proves to be a world unto itself in which Seth is forced to confront questions and realities about his very identity.
